final project during the process of printmaking
this is my final piece of my printmaking project . i chose the best one i did and i think it looks the best one than the the other five .
the difficulties i faced during this project were trying to print the linoleum on the lines of the last print i did . it was really hard because sometimes you do it right and you get all the edges lined up but u still dont get it lined up in the middle and you can actually see that in the picture i posted how the inner lines of pyramids are not lined up but the edges of print are good . sometimes it can make the print look better but it can also make it worst .
this projects was my least favorite one for many reasons . one of them that it was it didn't look realistic and i couldn't blind colors how i wanted for example i wanted dark colors and some light colors in some places but i couldn't do that because when pick the color it will go everywhere and you have to wait until it drys you can't blind to layers together . the second one was getting some colors in the wrong spots if you look at my print you can see that i have some orange in the sky , don't know how i got that but it made the print not neat and messy .
this project was a successful project because i think i did what i supposed to do and this how printmaking works you don't get what you expect and it always a surprise after printing a different color because you don't know how it's going to turn out and that actually what made it fun and enjoyable . it was a little different of what we used paint because you can't use brushes or pencils . at the end it was successful project and i enjoyed it .

Salvador Dali
these are my two sketches that i drew to help me choose which one to paint for my final . i chose the first one because it would fill the whole canvass and it had more details .
the two artist that i had to chose from are Salvador Dali and Eugene Delacroix . i chose Salvador Dali over Eugene Delacroix because Delacroix had a really hard type of style of painting.it was all about romanticism and making paintings that had to do with war and old historical stuff .so i chose Salvador Dali because his art was crazy and by putting things together to create amazing paintings . all of his painting have different meanings to them . i painted in his style and at the same time i made it relate to me .
this painting represents my country . my country is Palestine and its in the middle east .my country is not a free country it has been occupied for 67 years by Israel . i did this painting to represent the feelings that Palestinians have and how their still and will stand in their country no matter what .
the difficulties that i had while doing this painting were the hands and the face . it took me so long to do them because they have lots of small details and wrinkles . i was really hard to get the right face expressions . the easiest thing in it was doing the scarf on his head which is a very important cultural thing in Palestine . it was easy because it didn't have lots of color blinding and it also has simple details .
i had lots of compliments on this painting and i think i did a really good job because it turned out really good
clay project
these are my sketches and the pictures i printed for ideas i chose the cheesecake because its simple and it doesn't need lots of work .
this is my clay during the process
close up project
These are my sketches for this project. I drew a kiwi in three different ways to help choose the prefect on for my final . i chose the last one for my final cause it was the only one that would fill the whole paper.
this is my final project during the process of coloring with colored pencils.
This is my final drawing. I drew a close up of the inside of a kiwi. I drew this kiwi using colored pencil. Which are my favorite things to work with in art. I really like colored pencil because I feel like i have control of everything I do. And I really like mixing colors. it easy to mix colors using colored pencil because you can just keep adding colors on top of each other till you get the color you want .
this drawing have lots of details so i had hard time drawing the seeds and around the seeds . i was working with regular colored pencils so i had alittle hard time smoothing and mixing the colors . but it was a fun drawing to do it has lots of bright colors .
i learned some techniques while i was using colored pencils on this project and one of them is using a white colored pencil to mix and smooth out the colors more . That made a big difference in my drawing it made it smoother and more realistic. at the end it was a fun successful project and i'm keeping it forever .
perspective
I found these pictures in a couple of magazines. They helped me to have an idea of what I’m going to be drawing. They also gave me different ideas of how you can drew perspective in different angles and shapes .
After I looked at examples of perspective in real life, I chose three ways to draw perspective and I drew them all to see which one is the easiest to draw and which one I’m going to draw for my final project. This was really helpful for me because it helped me to kind of have an example of how and what my final project is going to look like and it helped me to practice more in drawing perspective.
The first picture is the one that I picked for my final project because it was the least challenging one of them all and I really liked it and I liked the angle of perspective in it .
Did you learn new techniques or processes as part of the work for this project?
I learned lots of techniques during this project. In this perspective project I learned how to draw things from real life and put it on papers. It was hard at the begging but then when I learned the different ways of doing it. It became really easy and not that challenging likes the begging. I learned how you can draw perspective from 1 point, 2 point and 3 point. The one that I felt it was the easiest for me is drawing perspective from 1 point perspective. I learned that drawing from one point perspective that all the lines must connect to the dot I put in the middle of the paper and all the others lines should be horizontal lines and that’s how you get a really realistic effect .
How did you respond to challenges that occurred as you worked?
I faced some difficulties while I was working on this project. One of them had to do with shading after I finished my drawing I had to put shadows in my city to make look realistic . it was little challenging because my drawing had lots of small lines and I’m supposed to put shadows between these lines . but I kept trying till I got the perfect shading and I tried to make the very top of each building darker so it make it look its going further and it's making the building taller and I shaded between each different building to make them look like their overlapping.
Did you consider how ideas would work before you tried them?
Before I started drawing my final project I practiced some other angles of perspective and I chose the one that I was mostly comfortable drawing and I thought I was the least challenging one and the one that I knew I can do of them all . I also learned how to work with controlling the pressure on the pencil am working with to get lighter and darker textures while drawing. It was a different project for me but It was a successful unit.
these are my apple drawings using colored pencils . i drew apples in three different colors one is in warm colors and one in cool and the last one is in both warm and cool . the one like the most is the one with warm colors because its the one that looks realistic the most.
my apple using water color. i had fun using different techniques with water color . my favorite technique was using the salt . i had hard time controlling the darkness of my colors i started with dark colors first which is wrong . i will work on that every time i use water color
this is the soda can that i drew with pastel .it was my first time working with pastel and i didn't really like it because i felt it was really messy . i had hard time mixing the colors and getting the color i want . but at the end it was a good experience . i tried something new but i dont think i will work with it again .
this is the sphere that i drew. it was good not challenging . i had fun doing the shading and putting different shades from the same pencil. |
